Sharing a clip in imovie

Is there a way to modify the default 10 s duration of a clip while sharing it? If I share the clip to file it doesn't let me change it.

Thank u

If the video is 10 seconds long the way to change that is to shorten the movie in the project before sharing it out. With video clips you can shorten the duration by trimming them back or by using the speed controls to speed them up. With still image clips, you select the clips and then click on the little information button at the top right of your screen. You can type in a shorter duration in the duration box that appears. Or, with a photo, you can change the duration by using the trimming procedure without cropping any material.

After sharing out a clip as a movie file, you also can import the shared movie back into a new iMovie project, and trim or speed up its duration in the new project, and then share out again.
