Will reseting old Mac after migration affect new in any way?

I've just switched to a new MacBook Pro, and I have synchronised all my data from the old Mac with Migration Assistant. I don't have a Time Machine back up of either Mac. But now that all the data is transferred, can I factory reset my old MacBook without it affecting my new Mac. Everything works perfectly on the new Mac, but I'm not sure how linked they still are?

You can erase the old one, and it will not affect the new one. However, since you don’t have a back up, I would wait to reset until you actually have a back up since that is serving as a back up.
