If iCloud Messages is enabled as is usual, yes.
In general terms, iCloud is usually operating as a sync service, meaning that adding or deleting something—photos, files, messages, etc—in one place adds or deletes it everywhere.
iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 added a way to recover deleted messages when iCloud Messages is enabled. Unfortunately for that, an iPad Air 2 is not supported on iPadOS 16.

If you’re seeing all of your conversations across all of your devices and not solely on the device you were using at the time, then iCloud Messages is enabled. But you can confirm the setting here:
