If i delete messages on my iPad, will it also delete them from my phone?
I am trying to free up storage on my iPad and want to make sure that my messages i delete from my iPad will not delete from my phone.

From iPad settings, disable iCloud Messages; assuming that your iPad is running iPadOS 17.x:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > [Apps Using iCloud] Show All > Messages in iCloud >Use On This iPad - set to OFF
If you are using an earlier version of iPadOS, the settings path may differ slightly.
After disabling iCloud Messages on your iPad, both your iPad and iPhone will continue to receive messages - however, they can be deleted from iPad with affecting the messages saved on your iPhone.
