Bouncing email with unknown address.

I received a message from Apple that my problem submission was edited. Presuming I must resubmit here it the problem without any personal information.

My email bounces because of an email address I did not enter. In other words, I composed an email to one individual as I have always done, but the message bounces explaining that an email address that I did not input is in undeliverable and a permanent error. I am using Gmail on an IPad. The errant email address is not in my iPad contacts and not in my Gmail contacts. When I search the errant email address with Google nothing comes up.
