Hi All! I bought an eSIM, which I used for a month while on vacation. I deleted the eSIM when I returned, but now my phone is defaulting to text message instead of iMessage for some of my messages. I have turned iMessage off and on, turned MMS off and on, and restarted my phone. What else can I do?
Go to Settings/Phone and verify that My Number is correct, and correct it if needed.
Then go to Settings/Messages/Send & Receive and again verify that it has the correct phone number. If it isn’t, log out of Messages, restart your phone, and log back in.

That did it! For some reason, Send & Receive had defaulted to my email address instead of my phone number so my iMessage wasn't working properly. Thank you so much!!
Go to Settings/General/VPN & Device Management and see if there is a left over profile from the eSIM. If there is, delete it.
Hi. I deleted my eSIM and now my iMessages isn’t working. I turned off the iMessages, restarted my phone and turned on iMessage. Didn’t work. Checked to see if send and receive has been defaulted to my email but that option is completely missing from under iMessages. What can I do?
