Your phone does not send your picture when you make a call, the photo that appears on their phone will be the picture that the person you call assigned to your contact record in their Contacts.

Hi…idk if this is still a problem you are dealing with still or not but you are sending a pic out to everyone. Its in your settings and you can either allow it or not.
Go into your settings and then to messages. Half way down youll see share name and photo. Thats where you can change it. You can decide whether or not you want your photo to be sent to the people you are contacting. I hope this helps.
Actually that's not totally correct. After i updated yesterday, a photo on MY PHONE was showing to people i called, i only found out because one of my co workers said hey nice photo of you and your wife, and was like WHAT. Anyway, go to settings, messages, then Share Name and Photo and you can choose which photo or no photo to share when you call people. I chose my initials. Hope this helps
I found out how to change or remove your photo.
Open the Contacts app on your iPhone. Tap My Card at the top, then tap Contact Photo & Poster. Optionally, tap Name, enter your first and last name as you want it to appear to others, then tap Edit to pick a poster or create a new one.

Hi there!
So click on the phone app. Then click on contacts. Then click on my card. It should be the first contact that had your name on it. Then click edit. You can change the picture or remove the picture
Add a photo to the list of contacts. You need to do this with each contact.
The pic below is self-explanatory
Thanks for the reply. However, your reply indicates how I assign a picture to each of my contacts, each picture I assign being a separate picture of my choosing that I want to associate to the contact for them to see when they receive a call from me. However, somehow in the iPhone system it appears I have assigned a global picture of my choosing to my phone number ID, so without assigning a picture to a specific contact whenever someone receives a call from me, they see this global picture I have associated with my phone number ID and the picture appears as my caller ID on their phone. I want to change this global picture associated with my caller ID (my phone number). Hope my explanation above makes sense to you. Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my question.
Thanks, you're probably right. I need to check with my friends to see what they had set up as my picture in their contacts on their phones. It was just that these friends must have set up the same picture of me then. Probably just a coincidence, but I wanted to be sure that I was not transmitting a picture to everybody I phoned. Thanks.
Hi Lawrence
I just wanted to let you know that mine does. When I loaded the new update it asked me to select a photo and now it appears on my friends phone when I call them. The only thing is I don’t know how to change it now it is done.
With the last iPhone update my picture is attached to outgoing calls and shows up on phones that do not have my photo attached to my contact information. How do I turn this feature off since it is a new feature?
Go to the contact, tap on "Edit". Tap "Add Photo" under the circle with the initials. Select from the options at the bottom of the page to use the camera, add a photo, add a Memoji or add a monogram.

Yes, things have changed since Lawrence made that post in May 2023. It was correct at the time.
I didnt assume he was wrong, as i said not TOTALLY correct. How about you worry about removing the post if its now inaccurate and stop wasting my time attempting to correct something that doesnt need correction.

Only the Hosts can remove a post. But, you are free not to waste your time reading or commenting on any thread that you consider pointless.
