No more photo stream?

if I’m wrong or missing something, someone please correct me.

So, apple can’t afford to allow us to sync our 1000 most recent photo/video across our devices for free, we now have to Hoover up our iCloud space and pay extra for iCloud storage if we want easy painless media sync across devices. Thanks.

About Apple Changes:

these are just user-to-user forums. No one here can speak on behalf of Apple. But, Apple is proprietary --they make their own calls on changes, and you agree to abide by that as a user --something you would have agreed to, upon opening an Apple ID.

So, what to try...

Download All of iCloud:

If you wanted to, you could download all of iCloud, and then trash what is in there. When trashed, it would be empty, and you will start it anew. Perform my User Tip: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip. All would be saved, and would then be removed —photos and all. You would then use Finder to browse all of iCloud.

Yes well aware I am a willing consumer flea caught in the maw of the apple beast. And to that point, you’re right it is pointless to whine about.

your work around as well timed. I just turned off iCloud photos because it was taking up all of my iCloud storage Space.

So I chose to download the data as 10 GB files increments. I go to the data and privacy page in safari to download my data, and initiate say 50 GB worth of downloads before any of them can complete, I get signed out of Safari due to inactivity, and the downloads fail. My question is this: can one do the same thing as your download work around for iCloud files with iCloud photos? please be advised the native photos app on my Mac does not work due to the size of my photo library - it crashes constantly and freezes even after I repair it duplicate it start a new one, etc.

Thank you for that.

Not sure if you can. I'd have to research that a bit, performing it on my own. I'll author a User Tip, if I can find a way to do so. That's an excellent thought.
