Battery activity says iPhone 12 Pro had hours of Flashlight on in the background without it being on

Hello!

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running on 16.4 and according to my battery report in the middle of the night while I was sleeping it showed that Flashlight was using 100% of the battery.

The flashlight was not on and I do not have the flash notifications.

Any idea what this could be? Is there malware on my phone?

There is no Malware on your iPhone. I am not sure why the flash light was on at around 4AM for an hour. What you can do is:

1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

(2)  After the above action, keep any eye on battery usage of the iPhone and check whether the issue happens again.
