It appears, somehow, the box to access my iPhone in account settings is unchecked. I need to re-check it too allow my photos to download to my computer. What's happening that I am not able to do that. I thought my iCloud ID and Apple ID were the same. When it says iCloud preferences wants my password, it won't take the old or the new. Why can't I get to preferences so I can check the box for photos?

Thank you for your responses. I appreciate your input. I finally figured out that somehow the ICloud box was unchecked in my settings; then I had a fight to get to the right password, but finally got that done so I could check the iCloud box. After that, I was off and running. Thankyou.
