Chance Apple-id

I’m trying to change my Apple-id because I’m changing web hotel. When I try changing to my primary icloud mailadress I get the message that there’s an error and to try later. Anyone know what to do?

Changing apple ID I want to change my apple ID from one 1 iCloud address to another iCloud address. I have added the address I wish to change to, let’s call it “new-address@icloud.com” to my “reachable at” in my apple profile, and have successfully signed into and added the new address to my mailbox. My problem: When I log into appleid.apple.com and enter my email “new-address@icloud.com” it says “You can only add the @icloud.com address that is already on file in your account.” What does this error mean? How do I change my appleid to the new address? I could not find this error mentioned anywhere.

I switched to the iCloud+ which seems to helped, in some respects. The switch from the “Free” Microsoft accounts was something that “No One related to Apple” had ever suggested or implied as possibly solution ?!
