ipod touch 4th generation won't set up new ID

We got a 4th generation ipod touch (6.1.6). We tried to create a new id and every time we do it, it gives us a server error. If we set up an ID on another device, we can't sign into the ipod because of a two-factor verification issue.

What does the message say?

Also, which version of iOS are you using on your iPod?

I think I'm correct in stating that access to the iTunes Store from an iPod requires iOS 10.0 or later, which means that your 4th generation iPod Touch can no longer use the Store directly.

If you wish to buy music from the iTunes Store, you can do so from iTunes on your computer*, and then use iTunes to copy those purchases to your iPod.

* iTunes is not longer used on Mac OS Catalina (10:15) or later. Instead, you use Finder to manage an iPod. I am not familiar with using a Mac to buy from the iTunes Store, but it is possible.

just enter in your password for the apple id, then when it prompts you for 2fa, type your password in the field, then right after your password, enter the six numbers on your other device(s). for example, if you password is ilikeipods123, and your verification code is 192021, this is what you would type into the password field: ilikeipods123192021. in conclusion, simply type the verification code w/o spaces directly after your password in the pw field.

this does not work for me, it comes up with an error, and says the "Username or password is incorrect" do you have any other methods I could try?

Assuming that you are using the correct capitalisation for both your user name and your password, try this page: If you forgot your Apple ID - Apple Support.

If you cannot remember your Apple ID password, there is a link on the sign-in page that helps you.
