Turning off Caps-Lock on iPad Pro does not work

I’m constantly hitting the caps lock key by accident. I’d like to disable the Caps Lock key permanently. There is a feature under settings –> general –> keyboard that allows me to turn off caps lock permanently.

However, this does not work and has no effect.

Does anyone have advice on how to permanently disable the caps lock key on an iPad Pro, as there are lots of videos explaining this feature, but none for iPad Pro. And somehow on my device this just has no effect.

The first thing to try would be a Force Restart of the device to clear that out of the way and may help resolve your issue

Force restart iPad - Apple Support

Is this issue with using the built-in (on screen) keyboard or an Apple Smart Keyboard external keyboard?

If external, try the following:

Go to Settings / General / Keyboard / Hardware keyboard and disable any setting which allows about using Caps Lock to switch languages.
