Two Apple Music Libraries Synced Together

My family and I recently got new iPhones and we are all on a Family Sharing plan. All four of us have our own Apple IDs, however, my sister accidentally logged into my Apple ID for “purchases and subscriptions” and my music library synced to her Apple Music library. I helped her fix it, so her library now only has her music, but now I logged on to my Apple Music account and now my library AND her library are synced to my account.

I made sure we both are signed into our respective Apple IDs and checked the profile in the upper right hand corner on Apple Music— both are correctly assigned. But the music is still there. Is there any way I can get her music off without individually deleting all the songs?

Hello allisa48,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you.

It's possible when your Apple ID was signed in your your sisters phone it associated her device to your account. You can check this using the actions provided in, View and remove your devices that are associated with Apple ID purchases - Apple Support and remove her iPhone if listed. This may help sort out the Music library.

Remove your associated iPhone or iPad

1. Tap Settings, tap your name, then tap Media & Purchases.
2. Tap View Account. You might be asked to sign in.
3. Scroll down, then tap Remove This Device.
iPhone showing Remove This Device in Account Settings.

Do you recall at any point approving the libraries be merged? If so, you'll likely need to remove her song selections individually.

Best regards.

I clicked remove this device but there has been no change. I don’t remember authorizing the libraries to be merged, though it’s possible.

I have since discovered that if I log out of Purchases and Subscriptions, and therefore out of Apple Music, my music library appears again without my sister’s music, and all my songs are downloaded (I have all my songs downloaded on my library, but since the merge, it has removed the downloads on essentially all my songs). Not sure if this is useful information or not, but thought I’d throw that out there.

I have come to the conclusion I am probably going to have to go and delete the songs on my own. However, I am open to any other suggestions as that is going to take a long time to complete. Thanks!
