Differences between two check coverage screens

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two screens? If i says "Activate your device"(with red exclamation point), could that mean that the device that were once activated and then unregistered by a former owner?

The yellow/orange exclamation point "Please activate your device" means it is a brand new device. Any thoughts?

Register a device in my iCloud account but the device is not in my posession I purchased an iPad for a friend of the family and they have not paid for the device after seven months. I have my receipt with the serial # and I purchased AppleCare+ for the device. Checking SN and it says “Activate your device” Kindly assist, An individual wants to sell me a phone. When I check the SN, it says “…unable to display coverage because your device has not been registered…” Does the phone need to be switched on for this information to show a sell date and warranty coverage? Will switching on and transferring data from my current phone, ‘activate’ the proposed phone? i checked the IMEI number on the box and it says it is unblocked. Which is good I guess. I must say I did think about what if it was a stolen item before it got to the valid reseller store? How can I check that it wasn’t? How could this transaction affect me if I do buy the item?

Non Active Device Hi All, I am form Pakistan and I am checking an iphone whether it is official or not. The serial numnber mentioned on the box is FWP9K4X79Q and upon entering this serial number Apple is giving me this statement, "Activate Your Device We’re unable to display coverage details because your device hasn’t been registered. Please contact your Apple product retailer or your wireless carrier to register this device", Retailor also claims that this iphone has not been activated yet and the box is complete seal pack. Can Anyone tell me what does this mean and does this mean the device is authentic. What can I do more to make sure the authenticity of this product. Many Thanks Muhammad Ahmad

Simply log into the device with your Apple ID. It will get activated.

That's not what I am asking... I am wondering why these two screens are different if they are both unregistered. What's the difference between the message of "⚠️Please activate your device" and "❗️Activate your device?"
