How do I tell if it has an esim card or not?

Go into settings > General > About > scroll down, you will see the section "Physical SIM" down below, if you have a SIM inserted. If you have an ESIM installed, it should claim "ESIM".

I don't see this at all...would I see it if I'm not connected to cellular?... under cellular it says "issue" then when I click that it says "Cellular Issue, Your iPhone is currently unable to access cellular data or make and receive calls or messages"


After I updated to IOS 17.4.1 it still told me "an update is required to use cellular data on this iPhone"


Then gives me an option to "Set Up Cellular in settings" that says "You can transfer your phone number from another device..." then options to set up cellular or not set up cellular
