Hi I have a video podcast I want to convert to audio and to do that I understand industry standard for audio is measured in LUFS. I only see dbs as an option in FCP X. Is there a conversion tool or some other way to do this? I'd rather not have to use totally different software. I want to use the detach audio tool and use that. thanks.
There is a "MultiMeter" audio plugin included with FCP (it's in the Specialized -> Logic section of Audio Effects). It will show LUFS.
There are several 3rd party loudness level plugins available, some with options to analyze the audio (i.e., show a graph of levels for an entire clip, etc.) and set levels, among other things. A couple of these are LCAST and LUFS Meter 2.
