Unable to sign into Messages after last Ventura update...

Hi-I updated my 2020 M1 MBP to the latest Ventura operating system. Since then I cannot log into Messages-I get the “unknown error occurred”. This is just on this Mac, not on my iPhone 14 Pro. I haven’t tried on my iPad Air 3 to see if it’s an issue or not. Same issue with FaceTime.

Sure hope this is not an isolated issue and Apple rushes out an update that fixes this.

Hi There,

I would suggest following the steps in this article to resolve your issue: If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

Make sure to follow the steps in the exact order as they are listed. Sometimes it may take up to 24 hours for iMessage to activate after completing these steps.

I didn’t reinstall Ventura. I just booted into Safe Mode. I don’t think I did anything. Maybe booting into Safe Mode again will fix it for you? I’m not sure. I shut down my Mac and waited a few seconds before booting into Safe Mode. Maybe waiting while shut down made a difference??? If you have Apple Care I would call them if it doesn’t fix it for you. 🤞🏻
