My son has an iPhone 11 that receives texts (iMessage and SMS) just fine from all contacts. It also sends them without issue to everyone, except two people. My son’s friend and my wife. My son can’t send a text message to my wife without it going to his friend instead. Both contacts have been deleted and re-added. Their numbers aren’t similar and only one of them has an iPhone.
Any thoughts?

Probably he is starting from an old thread.
They need to start a fresh message from the Contacts App.
Simply say, Hey Siri, send a message to XYZ, it will send it to the number you have in your contacts list.
