“File cannot be found error on switching users”

Hello everyone,

I have been using MacBook Pro M1 (13-inch) for a year now. Recently I started working and this I have created different user profiles (work, personal, and one for my younger sibling). The main issue I am facing is that when I switch from work profile to my personal profile, there is a continuous bleed of pop up notifications with “this file cannot be found” written on the main home desktop. I don’t know why this is happening, please I need help ASAP, my system lags like **** when that happens…

What do you mean "profiles"? You need to be very specific here since almost everything has a profile these days.

If you are going to have multiple people use a computer, then you need to create multiple macOS user account as described in this Apple article:

Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support

FYI, for kids you should make sure they only have a Standard user account so they don't make unauthorized changes to macOS (default type of account when creating a new one). Plus you can enable Screen Time to place other restrictions on those other accounts as well.
