I am not aware of the ambient temperature in which you are using the iPhone. However --> Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable ...

Store the device where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

Use iOS devices where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause the device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring the device back to higher ambient temperatures. Using an iOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.

There can be a few reasons why an iPhone might heat up while charging on a bed. Here are some potential causes:

  1. When you place your iPhone on a soft surface like a bed, it can obstruct the airflow around the device, preventing heat from dissipating properly. This can cause the iPhone to heat up.
  2. If you use your iPhone while it's charging, especially for tasks that require significant processing power, such as gaming or video streaming, it can generate additional heat.
  3. Sometimes, a faulty charger or cable can cause excessive heat generation. If the charger or cable is not functioning properly, it may not provide a stable and efficient power supply, leading to increased heat production.

To mitigate the issue, you can try the following steps:

  1. Place the iPhone on a hard, flat surface while charging, which allows better airflow and heat dissipation.
  2. Avoid using the iPhone heavily while it's charging, as this can generate more heat.
  3. Ensure that you're using a genuine charger and cable that are in good working condition. Consider using Apple-approved accessories to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Remember, while some warmth is normal during charging, excessive heat generation could indicate a problem that needs attention.
