We have a communal computer where visitors can access garage band using the same user account. Is there a way to change the behavior of the app so it doesn't open on the last saved project? We know about the key combination (holding down Opt while it starts up) but it's not intuitive for first time users. Is there any setting configurations or file editing that can be done to change this?
No, there isn't. Try to make your users launch GarageBand by double-clicking one of their own, current projects to open in GarageBand and keep empty, new projects as a starting point.
Or urge the users to erase the list of recent projects(file > recent items), once they have finished working with GarageBand. But even then the last used project will still be added to the list of recents.
You would have to change the System Settings for "recent" objects to "None" for the shared account. You will find this Setting in the System Settings > Contro center, down at the bottom. But then no application will remember any recent objects.
