Why did the background color on phone calls change to ugly blue and gray?

Yes, it changed with iOS 17.
Sorry, I wasn't replying to you. No, things changed with iOS 17. No explanation for why they would be different with iOS 16.

on 11 Pro background screen color changed to dull grey when answering or making phone calls since Apple 17.1.1 upgrade yesterday
UGLY !! How can I change it
No, my Home Screen hasn’t changed in months, but the background color on phone, which was a very nice solid blue, is now blue that fades into ugly gray, a couple weeks ago. My Home Screen is a photo that has many colors but no ugly gray.
Do you mean iOS 16? i’m still on iOS 16.7 but my phone call background colors have been changed for a long time to the newer, unfortunate colors, I think with iOS 16.
I’d rather be able to pick my own color preference.
They grey background colour when I make a call . So ugly . Why have apple done this . I have a brand new phone . But I may take it back and get an android , . This colour is do depressing and spoils my phone .

When I receive a tel call it’s a grey background which it wasn’t before ? I have just had it in for repair ?

That question has already been answered in this thread.
I updated my iPhone to IOS 17.1.1 a few weeks ago, and since then, my background color when answering calls has changed to a dull grey color. It is not pleasant. At the same time, I only get small icons for callers, even though I have full screen set for incoming calls. What can I do to go back to the better screens options?
