My iPhone 14 is fully charged but a half charged (green shows level) battery symbol is in the background of every Home Screen. It does not respond to touch and remains after restart! How do I get rid of it? Thank you!

Hex4976,
From the screenshot you've shared it appears that the battery icon is part of your wallpaper. Try changing your wallpaper as outlined in the following guide to see if the issue remains: Change the wallpaper on your iPhone - Apple Support
Add a new wallpaper for your Lock Screen or Home Screen
1. In the Settings app, tap Wallpaper.
2. Tap Add New Wallpaper.
3. Tap Photos, People, or Photo Shuffle to choose your own photo. You can also select a wallpaper from a category like Weather & Astronomy, Emoji, Collections, or Color.
Take care.

Hey there Hex4976,
We'd like to help by learning more about what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:
Cheers!
The battery icon at the top of the screen shows 100% after a charge and the phone behaves as if this is a correct reading (based on the readings throughout the day) so I am convinced the "ghost" battery symbol that lurks behind the apps on each home page is not correct in showing a 35% charge. This started several days after upgrading to to iOS 16.5 so I don't believe it is a sure thing upgrade issue. My phone works normally with the only noticeable difference being the image of the battery . As you can see in the second screenshot, it lurks behind the apps and you can see the "Cha" above the battery (that says 35% Charged). It does not cause any problems but it is annoying and I like to solve mysteries like this and not just accept them as forever. The other screenshot shows the battery settings if that is of any help. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you!
Steve
That did the trick! I appreciate your suggestions! Thank you! Not sure what happened but I am happy to get rid of it.
