New Apple TV box

I have an Apple TV box. I don’t know the model but I thought I’m gonna get a 4k tv soon so I went and got a new Apple TV 4K. Here is my question , can I just remove the old one and just hook up the new one, or some procedural way to go. I’m an old fart who likes things smarter than me.. TIA

Yes, you can simply swap-out your older AppleTV box for the AppleTV 4K. You will need to perform initial setup of the new AppleTV, entering your AppleID credentials when prompted. Your new box should automatically detect a non-4K TV - and will be configured for the correct screen resolution.
