I am new to iPhone and iCloud. With my Android phone I have never used all of my internet available to me each month. This is my first month with iPhone/iCloud and I am getting a warning that I am running out of internet. Is iCloud backup causing this?

iCloud backs up almost everything except the operating system on your phone on the first backup. After that, only the changes that have occurred on your phone since the last backup are backed up.
Could this be why I am over my internet limit?
No, unless you are constantly adding tons of new photos, music, videos, etc to your phone all the time.
if you use iCloud backup, your device backs up to iCloud when plugged in and left alone.
I don’t understand how the backup works. Is the system just looking for new input and changes? That should be a fairly quick process, yes? But is backup running constantly in the background, continually using my Wi-Fi resources? Could this be why I am over my internet limit?
Thank you. I will search for other reasons. From what has been shared here, I do not believe iCloud is an issue.
