SD card not recognized when re-inserted. It is accessible if it is in the SD card slot during boot. This is since Ventura 13.4 update.

Since Ventura 13.4 update on my Macbook M1 Pro 16 inch (or maybe an update to 13.3 ?) the faster SD cards are no longer recognized when inserted. The prompt to approve access appears and when pressed Allow it doesn't show in Finder, nor in Diskutil.

When I insert the SD card and do a reboot, no prompt appears but the card is fully accessible.

I do have parallels installed. Tried al different settings in Parallels as well, but also none of the virtual machines are able to recognise a re-inserted SD card.

How can we fix this ?

I and others had the same issue when running Monterey. It fixed itself when updated to a later revision. Not sure what the issue was (is). I did notice that it worked fine using an external SD card reader.

Thanks, but how long will this take, might have to wait until MacOS Sanoma arrives....

Also, the external SD card shows the same behaviour, it seems to be something in the USB drivers.

The funny thing is that an old slow SD card of 2 Gb does not give this problem...... But all 8 Gb and bigger microSD cards in an adapter give this problem.
