Can you connect a Apple Watch series 7 to an iPhone 7?

Yes, but the watch cannot be updated to WatchOS 9. If it is currently on WatchOS 9, it can only pair with an iPhone which is running iOS 16 or higher. And an iPhone 7 is NOT capable of running iOS 16.
