mac mini and bluetooth ear pods

How can I pair my Sony pods with the Bluetooth on my Mac Mini? The mini does not recognize the pods to pair, and the Mini does not have a microphone.

Mac mini, macOS 13.4

-------

Troubleshooting Mac Bluetooth:

Three Things to Try:

A. Verify the Connection:

See if the speaker is even seen:

  1. Hold Down: the Option key
  2. Click: the Apple menu
  3. Select:: About this Mac...
  4. Click: System Report... button
  5. Select: Bluetooth (on the left of screen)
  6. Look For: this Speaker

B. Try Reseting the Core Audio:

Type the following command in Terminal:

sudo killall coreaudiod

C. Perform a SMC and NVRAM Reset:

Sometimes changes are made to the system(i.e. updates) and then settings (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically.  So, reset both the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac.

D. "Reset the Bluetooth Module":

See my User Tip: Use "Reset the Bluetooth module" to Fix Constant Bluetooth Disconnections - User Tip. Looking at my first comment on it, recommended to Apple that they bring this option back. They discontinued it on even macOS versions.

first time you connect a bluetooth headset to a new device you need to put the headset into pairing / discovery mode

how you go about doing so differ from headset to headset the manual or website of the manufacturer should be able to tell you

and make sure that the headset does not have an active connection to another device at the time of the pairing
