I use the latest appletv 16.5 as thread border router.
Then ATV in standby mode, it works perfect.
If I turn on the appletv, I will loose all thread connections. Border router is gone ?
What to do ?

switching the ATV to 1080p HDR mode resolves my issue!
Oh that’s bad. The Thread Signal is reduced when using in 4K and it should not be a Hardware issue.
Can you move the ATV with a long HDMI cable in direction the Nanoleaf (my solution)?
Can you try to set the ATV to full HD?
Can you buy a HomePod Mini?
Can you use another Thread Border Router an give the ID later to HomeKit?
Waiting for an update or return the Nanoleaf and use Govee with Matter via WIFI are my last Ideas for your problem.
I hope that FHD works for you. You can write your result.
The Nuki Support says that they could reproduce my problem with UHD and not with FHD / Standby. They said that the signal is reduced in the UHD case. So it should be a bug in ATV and they try to report ist to Apple, too.
I hope that there'll be a solution very soon.

Same problem. Just got a Nanoleaf Matter Lightstrip the other day. Works perfectly via Nanoleaf app or Apple Home app when ATV is in standby mode. As soon as ATV is powered on, the Nanoleaf becomes unresponsive. ATV to standby again and Nanoleaf restores its connection a few minutes later.
ATV 4K acting as thread border router, connected via ethernet. All running latest s/w. No other Thread/smarthome devices in my network. ATV is out of warranty…

appreciate your response. I will try to force the ATV to FullHD mode, none of my streaming subscriptions are actually 4K enabled.
I have a hard time believing signal strength is really the issue, the ATV and Nanoleaf are 2 meters apart with direct line of sight. Buying something else is an option but i’d rather have a fix :) To me it feels like something is wrong with the ATV or its software, like i mentioned everything works perfect and is responsive when the ATV is in standby.
