Final Cut Pro 10.6.6 Has just decimated a two year project which was due to be premiered on YouTube tonight. Can it be salvaged? ?
Hello Everyone
If Tom or Luis are on here I'm hoping it's possible maybe? The only thing being is it seems to be getting progressively worse. I've tried to alleviate the damage by downloading a 10.6.5 from Time Machine and loading the main library into that then realised of course that all the updated files are no longer readable and are now rendered utterly useless.
That was the first sickening jolt to my nervous system, the second I suppose quite understandably, is that the entire iMac seems to have now taken a rather nervous stance with regards to loading anything into an old version of an editing software it has effectively said goodbye to, and is constantly crashing as though it has been electrocuted every time the enter key is pressed.
And of course what feast is not complete without its Jester? No surprise now then to see that Uriah Heap of happiness, the spinning beachball making its untimely and most unwelcome appearance, halting every move I make for a good thirty seconds before allowing traffic through so to speak.
And if things couldn't get any worse a third whammy has hit with profound implications to my sanity and the whole project I have so painstakingly worked on for the last twenty two months.....
A large number of plug ins have decided to shut down one by one but the system does not identify them by name, instead it merely mutters a code and the name of the Company that has produced them. This project has utilised the services of hundreds of these gallant effects from all corners of the special visual FX globe I honestly wouldn't know where to begin.
So like orphaned rats deserting this sinking ship, I sigh with despair, stand, salute them and head towards the fridge where a bottle of ice cold Corona lies in state, a small brightly coloured lime at its helm I look up at the clock and sigh once more, 10:49 am GMT/BST Thursday June 8th 2023 It's my Birthday today and I am 63 years old. I try to smile away a small tear desperately trying to trickle down upon my cheek but alas to no avail.
Thanks for reading everyone It's probably best if I wait and see if there any solutions being proffered and if anyone else is having these problems? The enormity of this has been a little too much to bear, and I'm afraid I don't like the new version of Final Cut very much at this moment it has to be said.
