Drafts in Apple mail.

I am using Catalina and Apple mail.. I was seeing the Apple Mail kept saving a draft of a message even after I sent it. Based on a post here from 2017 (probably a mistake). I changed the settings in mailbox behaviors to this. Now I do not see drafts showing up. Before there was a 1 (or 2,3, etc based on how many drafts) in a gray oval to the right of drafts showing how many draft had. This is what I have now... Any help would be appreciated.

I can't see what it was before you changed whatever, but drafts mess ups are usually due to timing with the Server.

Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Your Account>Mailbox Behaviors, what path is Drafts Mailbox set to?

Setting it to an On My Mac Drafts box generally cures it if you don't need Drafts sent to other devices.

Try setting to an On My Mac Box.

The specific issue may be that you have your Drafts Mailbox set to: [Gmail], not a specific folder, so it's likely that the server is getting confused over whether a message is an actual draft or not.

The default for Gmail's Drafts mailbox is:

[Gmail]/Drafts

which should ensure your drafts are saved in the right place, and Gmail doesn't get confused.
