Dropped phone in water. It is now not working. I thought 12 mini phone was water resistant

Is there absolutely no support from Apple when you drop your phone in very shallow water momentarily and it stops working despite it apparently being water resistant ?

Water resistant does not mean waterproof.

You can contact Apple to see what options they have for you. If you have AppleCare+, you may be eligible for replacement under the lost/damaged benefit. If you do not, Apple may offer you an out-of-warranty replacement. I believe the cost is usually about 60% of the cost of a new phone but don't quote me on that.
