It should. Any text and indicators should automatically hide away after a few moments of playing anything, this incudes the wi-fi and battery indicators.

The should only be visible when tapping the screen.

If they don't go away with the rest of the controls and menu, then try removing the App and re-installing it.

Just uninstall and reinstall Netflix again, I had the same problem with the time and battery info staying on the screen during Netflix playback.

The issue might be Netflix is using their own video player or have not properly programmed their app.

Try what Phil posted, if that doesn’t work contact Netflix.

What display info?

Are you referring to playback controls, scrub bar, volume icon etc.. ? If so, just tap once on the screen not near the play button, and it should go away. Or let it sit for a few seconds while playing something and it should also go away on its own.
