Predictive text function gone in iPad after latest iOS update

Hello,

In the last day or two, since updating to the latest iOS upgrade, I have lost my Predictive text function! I have made sure my PT toggle is ON in Settings, and have restarted my iPad and iPhone several times, with no resulting correction. Now what? I noticed a couple of times that the text bar below the text box flashed on for 1 second, and then shut off. When I click on the little bar where you choose the language, whether or not you want the keyboard, emojis, etc., there are no options given for predictive text. I’m lost without it! Thanks. Kate

Apple support have an article online (link below) that may help:

How to use Auto-Correction and predictive text on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Eg: says:

To turn predictive text off or on:

  1. Touch and hold the smile emoji  or the globe icon .
  2. Tap Keyboard Settings, then turn Predictive on or off.

Or go to Settings > General > Keyboard, and turn Predictive on or off.
