ios 16.5 battery drain

Yeah, iOS 16.5 caused battery drain issues for a lot of people, but it was actually Apple's attempts to fix it with 16.5.1 that caused my iPhone 13 Pro Max to have severe battery drain.

The FIX: I managed to fix it by backing up my phone to my computer, then putting the phone into DFU mode, then completely reinstalling iOS 16.5.1, then restoring my backup onto the phone. My battery is back to normal after doing this.

Surprisingly, the restore process was actually far less painful than I was expecting.

Since 16.5.1 my battery didn't last very long and the XR got very hot.

Now I've updated to 16.6, all problems gone! Yet there is nothing in the notes to suggest 16.6 had a related fix. So I'm assuming the process of the original update left the phone unstable and the recent update has restored everything to normal. Some have suggested a restore to resolve this and I'm inclined to recommend if a software update doesn't.

Same here and I’ve seen other folks posting the same. Not a huge number but enough that I know it isn’t just me.

Wish I had something to offer other than “me too” but unfortunately not. Maybe if enough people report it the issue it will be confirmed by Apple and a fix implemented with next release.

Ready to go Android since this last update. My phone does not last until noon and it never, ever had that issue before 16.5. I am done....

I updated my iPhone 8 to 16.5.1 and am also experiencing the battery draining from full charge within 4-5 hours. Battery health is 100 percent and I tried removing unwanted apps, notifications and lots of other settings to little improvements

Apple is not replying on this issue and users are suffering due to their negligence.
