iOS 18.4 Causing Severe Battery Drain on iPhone 14 Pro

I recently updated my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18.4, and ever since the update, the battery has been draining at a rate I've never experienced before. Last night I went to bed with 75% battery and when I woke up this morning, my phone was completely dead.

This has never happened with any previous iOS version, and it's honestly made my phone almost unusable at this point. I haven’t changed any settings or installed any new apps — the only change was the update to 18.4.

Is anyone else experiencing this? And more importantly, is there any way to roll back to iOS 18.3 in the meantime? I really need a stable phone for daily use and can’t afford to deal with this kind of battery drain.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Yes, I was also experiencing this, and so are about all other users that update. In fact, this phenomenon is normal and expected when you update your iPhone. The reason being is that after you update your iPhone, it must work extra hard to sort and move all your data to the right places. The iPhone also needs more energy to be able to introduce and use different features or functions incorporated with the update. This can all cause an increased battery drain.

This phenomenon is not permanent and usually after a few days to a week, your iPhone’s conditions will return to normal. And no, you cannot downgrade your iPhone’s iOS.

I am the polar opposite. I had the same battery draining issue since I updated my 14 pro to IOS 18, if I left the phone uncharged before sleep, it would drain from 90% all the way to 40% in the morning. The 18.4 actually fixed the draining issue for me. I would recommend backing up your data and do a fresh reset on your iphone.
