Data use in background

Hi. I have an Iphone SE 2020. Even though I have data switched off, data seems to be being used in the background. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it? Thanks!

Maximum Mobile Data Shown on iOS If you are using an iphone, there is a limit under 'Mobile Data' that the iOS can show you and it will not go past that limit. What I am trying to say is that if you don't reset your data usage, iOS will only be able to show a maximum of 10TB under 'Current Period'. You could check it out by going to Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data > Current Period I wish if Apple Developers could lift the limit of the data that the iOS can show, please? Cheers!

iPhone sending large data to GOOGLE Hello! On Saturday 28th December, at early morning, I noticed my iPhone is uploading data to somewhere I could not understand. As I am working in the environment, where I have data allowance per day of 1.5gb, I am using Network Link Conditioner and capped my speed at 1200Kbps. Even with this cap on Saturday morning for not so long internet usage, it managed to send 360mb of uploaded data to somewhere, before I managed to log out of network. After that I noticed, every time I log on for internet connection, my phone is just non stop sending some data to somewhere. Of course, if I disable bandwidth cap, it is sending data at greater speeds. Over those 3 days I am trying to avoid using my limited internet with iPhone, but at times when I needed to use it, it has sent like at least 3GB of data to somewhere.... I have enabled Low data mode, Low Power mode, disabled all background app refresh. Disabled all possible tracking within iOS settings I could find. Nothing stops data being uploaded... So I started to dig around, where the heck my phone is sending unknown data.... I managed to find it out with program named - iftop. The program is showing bandwidth per connected IP. The IP it is sending data to is - 142.250.27.207. By looking up who owns it, it is GOOGLE. I do NOT use Google photos and just deleted any google app I could find on my phone and problem still persists without any changes. Could you please elaborate what kind of data my iPhone is sending to google at this quantity? As well I can NOT stop it, and would like to use my phone normally. As I have stated before, I got data allowance of 1.5GB per day. Thanks! P.S iOS 18.2 and iPhone 16 Pro max.

Could you please confirm how you know data is being used? Is it showing on your cell phone bill?

If you go to Settings > Cellular, is anything enabled in there, including Wi-Fi assist down at the bottom?

I have a small amount of data with my plan so only use data if it’s urgent.

Nevertheless data is being used. I know this because I receive a warning once I have used my data limit.

I checked wi-fi assist and it was turned off.

so the mystery continues….
