I have an iPhone Xs Max running iOS 16.5. It will not allow me to delete apps, in fact nowhere does it offer the option to delete - only hide or delete from home screen. I have searched online for solutions, tried each and every method offered. Obviously including Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/ iTunes & App Store Purchases/ Allow Deleting Apps; iPhone Storage; App Store.... None work.
Go to Settings/General/VPN & Device Management - do you see a business account profile there?
And I know you said you checked but please recheck:
Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/iTunes & App Store Purchases/Deleting Apps
and if it says Allow, change to Don’t Allow, then change it back to Allow.
If you have done all of that either there are parental controls enabled on the phone, or you have a business email account or MDM (Mobile Device Management) installed on the phone and the administrator has blocked deleting apps.
And note that some built-in apps cannot be deleted.
Then you need to contact Apple Support.
I have no trouble removing apps with iOS 16.5:
I hold my finger on the app until it wriggles, tap the “-“ and I see a choice Remove App. After tapping Remove App I am given 3 choices: Cancel, Remove from Home Screen, and Delete app.
Please note that this is my personal phone, and I have been using it for nearly 5 years. This problem started with a recent update.
I have no parental controls enabled, nor do I have MDM. My business email is just that - a Google enabled email account. It has no other functionality on my phone.
None of the apps I am attempting to delete are built-in apps
Settings/General/VPN & Device Management - No business account profile
Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/iTunes & App Store Purchases/Deleting Apps
and if it says Allow, change to Don’t Allow, then change it back to Allow - I've done this multiple times - including powering off between each step. Just did it again to confirm.
I do the same - get the same pop-up - except that there is no red "Delete App"
I will try apple support...
