How can I turn off 2 factor authentication for Apple Pay?

You can’t.


2FA is required on all new Apple accounts.


So rather than “fight it” you should instead learn how it works. (Preferably before you NEED it badly)


Suggest you study in detail and digest these two essential articles:


Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support


Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support


Pro Tip: Pay close attention to selecting and setting-up your Trusted Numbers.


And practice using them … the time to learn is NOT after you’ve lost your phone.
