final cut pro freezing video in viewer

Hello, just in the last day the video Im editing in finalcut has been freezing in the viewing screen. It keeps happening every few minutes. I have screen recorded it but not sure how to attach to this message unfortunately. I have to quit and open final cut again. Nothing else seems to make it respond. And I dont know if its related at all but chrome stopped functioning too for a minute and when I tried to screen record that in Quicktime, the video ended up just catching a green screen. Chrome starting working again though. Ive just shut down my computer, its only about 9 months old and never had any issues. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

Try deleting the preferences.

Hold down the option and command keys as you launch FCP until a window appears.

Click Delete Preferences.

FCP will open with a new untitled Library so you will have to navigate to the project you were working on.

Thank you for replying :) I've just tried deleting preferences and it opened with a blank library but still doing the green screen when I open my project. It seems to be selective about which parts, some of it is green screen and some of it isnt which is really weird, even if the edits are from the same raw clip. I crossfade between edits and the video comes back just during the crossfade. It also exports with the green screen parts which is stressing me D:
