MacBook Air M1 Keyboard settings not working efficiently
I am someone who makes use of the caps lock button when typing capital letters as it is more efficient to me than to hold the shift button. There was no issue doing this when using a windows keyboard, but since moving to Mac I have encountered 2 incredibly frustrating issues.
firstly, because I use the caps lock button, I would tap it on and off quickly when trying to use the capital letters. initially I thought there was something wrong with my keyboard, as I would tap the button but then it wouldn't turn on. It seemed as if the button wouldn't turn on unless I tapped it either hard enough or long enough which was incredibly frustrating. I went to this forum and I was told that the issue would be resolved if I turned on slow keys, and then changed the acceptance delay to the lowest setting. This worked, but I still found it quite ridiculous that it seemed to only affect the caps lock key and none of the other keys on my keyboard.
however, even though this solved one problem, it created another. after typing for a few minutes, I had to delete a paragraph and when I did this, the backspace button became ungodly slow, almost as if there was some kind of software problem. once again I went to this forum and it told me to toggle my key repeat rate and delay until repeat rate. this didn't work initially, and only seemed to work when I turned off slow keys.
so now, I seemed to have solved my backspace problem, but my caps lock issue is back again. and if I solve my caps lock issue, it creates the backspace problem.
this is really frustrating and is severely impacting my productivity. I would like to know if anyone has a workaround for this? I come from using a windows laptop, and these kinds of keyboard issues never seemed to raise their heads?
thanks
