Always on Apple Watch

Hello everyone! The always on feature on my Apple Watch isn’t working anymore (since I had to change the wrist I was using it on - I put the correct wrist in the settings)

ive tried :

  • turning the watch off/on
  • switching always on off then back on
  • changing back the wrist I was wearing it on
  • theatre mode and DND are off
  • all updates are done

thanks in advaaaance

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Appears like you have done all of the obvious things. Try one more time on switching the watch off, waiting a few minutes and powering on again.

If not, give Apple Support a call in helping to sort out.

it happened to me the same with my new Apple watch. After reading blogs and posts for several hours, I discovered that tattoos can cause this problem as the watch doesn't recognise the skin, so if you move the watch away from the tattoo then it works. Personally, my problem is that I had a small bracelet, the cotton ones you buy on the beaches, and sometimes the bracelet was going underneath the watch, covering the watch sensors. Once I moved away the bracelet, then the watch started again to be in the "always on" mood.

I hope this helps!
