what happens to photos saved to the cloud when you reset an iphone?
If I restored photos from an older iphone to a newer iphone via cloud backup, can I then reset the old phone and still have all the photos from the older one on the newer phone? -- without backing up the older phone photos to my macbook/non-cloud storage first?
I want to turn my old XS into a music "ipod" and maximize space by resetting to just a few apps and moving the photos to my newer phone/cloud. I fear once I reset the older phone to factory settings, the cloud will think I "deleted" them and will wipe them from the cloud storage. I think this because I can't seem to find cloud back up from my... 8? or whatever phone I had before the XS.
Why do I want to reset the XS? Because I have 100s of apps and do not want to delete them all one by one (TEDIOUS!) - which seems the only alternative to resetting to factory settings. I have "share across devices" enabled. The XS was offline a long time so no recent photos need to be moved.
I read several posts online but still can't really tell what happens when I do what I want to do:
Reset XS to factory settings - dropping all apps and photos/files/etc.
Install music apps.
Download tons of music.
Still have all my XS photos available from my 13Pro.
I **think** the restore from XS backup to 13P backup made my 13P "whole" and I can just reset and move along but losing all those photos would make me cry.
