Most text “widgets?” not working at all…

So I dont think they are actually called widgets and I’m not sure what they are called but when you’re sending a text message and you click the app looking button next to the camera button it brings up that row of “widgets”, in text apps, whatever they are called… when I click on most of them my phone proceeds to do nothing. If I click the voice record button I see a gray circle surround the button as if I pressed it but then nothing happens. Same thing goes for all the buttons there. If I try and send a GIF yet again the GIFs aren’t even pulled up but the gray circle surrounds the button. It doesn’t matter how long I wait, nothing happens. It doesn’t matter if I’m texting someone with an iPhone or an android, the same thing happens regardless. It’s very frustrating, what do I do? There are “apps”, widgets, or buttons (whatever you want to call them) that do work like photos, apps, and that Digital Touch message but nothing else. Just seems super weird

Hi Rovderwithropes,

It sounds like you're referring to iMessage apps.

If they're installed but not working, we'd first recommend a simple restart. While straightforward, it can help clear out many temporary issues. Also, we'd recommend ensuring you're on the latest version of iOS for your device.

If the issue persists, try deleting a specific app if able to do so, then re-download it:

"Delete iMessage apps

  1. Open Messages.
  2. Tap the Compose button Compose a message to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
  3. Swipe left over the app drawer and tap the More button more icon.
  4. Swipe left over the app, then tap Delete.
  5. Tap Done."

Let us know if the issue persists in a reply to this post, we'll follow up from there.

Cheers!
