Jumpy / shaky / jittery mouse cursor in macOS

I've had this problem for a while now, but only with my new MBA M2. Previously, using the same Logitech G300s on my Mac mini M1, I never had this issue.

From the image it's visible what the mouse cursor starts doing randomly. Typically this happens after waking from sleep, plugging in the monitor (HDMI) and the mouse (USB-A) via the same dongle (USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter).

What does make it go away is to unplug the mouse from the multiport adapter and plug it back in after a while, say 5 mins, or putting the machine to sleep and waking it.

Any ideas why this happens? I'm on Ventura 13.4. Had this MBA since December last year, so only with Ventura.

So what happen wit this specific mouse when the USB A Male connector is plugged Directing into the computer.

Yes, the M2 MBA does have a USB-C Female connector so some type of USB-A to USB-C adapter is required

Have had great success using the below cheap adapter for various Older USB-A devices and all work fine on 3 different M1 / M2 Apple Silicon Computers

What version of macOS was / is installed on that machine ?

Is there any Third Party Software from the Manufacture involved and installed on either of the two computers that is required to make the Mouse Functional ?

If so, suggest checking with the Manufacture for update software

Has the same issue here. For me, it was the quality of the electrical power.

When plugged in, jittery jaggedy jumpy mouse. When I unplugged, all was well.

The same issue can cause Touch ID to stop working when plugged into power, which I’ve experienced in this house before. After re-experiencing the Touch ID issue, I quickly checked the mouse behavior and it immediately checked it.

plugged in: jumpy

not plugged in: smooth

check your surge protectors and experiment to see if it goes away. You may need to get a power conditioner of some sort if the power in your house is particularly dirty
