iTunes Store unable to process gift certificates

I have redeemed my gift certificates, I have a balance in my account, I successfully downloaded a few songs, and now I get this error message. I have logged out and back in, shut down and back on and it’s still not working. Why?

“the itunes store is unable to process gift certificates at this time” when attempting to purchase music I successfully loaded a pre-paid $50 apple iTunes gift card. I then proceeded to purchase some music (5-6 songs). Then I started receiving the “the itunes store is unable to process gift certificates at this time” when attempting to purchase more music. I still have the bulk remaining balance showing, but am unable to purchase more yes, I have tried and completed: updating iOS cycling credentials (log out/in) cycling device checking/adjusting date & time confirmed no posted issue with Apple servers at time of issue no change with of these help!

"The iTunes store is unable to process Gift Certificates at this time." What is this? About 10 minutes before this occurred, I added $5.00 to my Apple account balance. I went to buy a bundle, which was $5.00, but when I double-clicked the side button and it processed, it gave the ChaTing! sound and gave me a check mark. But then right after, it gave me an error message saying this: "The iTunes store is unable to process Gift Certificates at this time." I've never encountered this before when I get free applications. What's going on?
