How to fix: "Would you like to stop sharing your location with the participants in this conversation?"

I see a number of posts here that whenever messages are deleted, the phone is asking to stop sharing. For example:

This is happening when the sharing is done via the contact's telephone number. The easiest way to fix this is:

1. Unshare the location
2. Add the email address associated with their icloud account to your contact.
3. In "Find My", share the location, but instead of selecting the phone number, select the icloud account email address from your contact. When asked, share indefinitely.

Messages can now be deleted for that contact, without it asking the annoying question of if you want to stop sharing the location.
