I had not logged off, and definitely didn't change the ID image. It changed from a photo, to an avatar that I think originated in Bitmoji. Again, this definitely is not something I put there. Any suggestions?

Change it back, and see if it happens again. My son changed his contacts photo and that change happened in my Mac's contacts as well.
Some things just happen in complicated devices like computers.
Thank you! Changing the image also changed my apple ID on all devices. Not a problem, just odd, since this was just the user photo on the lock screen.
