Mail Follow Up & Remind Me Not Working

I have two issues with the new mail functions in MacOS:

  1. The "Remind Me Later" options for mail messages are greyed out if the mail message is not in the inbox, and thus I cannot choose to have mail remind me about them later.
  2. Emails moved to some other folder are bot correctly labelled for Follow Up, and they do not move to the top of my mailbox as I would expect.

Does anyone have any ideas is this will be fixed with the release of macOS 14?

We can not speculate here on pre-released /beta macOS according to the TOU
